Benedict Cumberbatch looked over the moon to share the red carpet with his wife Sophie Hunter ahead of a screening of his film The Power of the Dog at Venice Film Festival, with the pair sharing a kiss.

The Sherlock actor was all smiles as he posed next to his wife, before giving her a kiss in front of the cameras.

While Benedict was suited up for the occasion, Sophie looked stunning in a flowing white and red floor-length dress.

The 45-year-old went on to pose with his co-star, Kirsten Dunst, and director Jane Campion as he threw an arm round both of them.

The trio looked thrilled to present their film, which has been widely praised by critics, at the festival.

Based on the novel by Thomas Savage, the upcoming movie follows rancher Phil Burbank (Benedict) who inspires fear and awe in those around him.

The cast also includes Thomasin McKenzie, Frances Conroy, Keith Carradine, Peter Carroll, and Adam Beach.

The actor was previously spotted rocking a powder blue suit as he arrived at Venice Film Festival, looking completely dapper as he prepared for the event.

Benedict and Sophie, who is a theatre and opera director, tied the knot in 2015. They share three sons, Christopher, Hal, and Finn.

Before they got engaged, they had been friends for 17 years.

Benedict previously told People of their engagement: ‘One of the most incredible things about getting engaged, which we had no idea would be coming back our way, is the amount of love that just comes flooding back.

‘I thought it was just all about us declaring that we were in love and getting married, but actually it’s the world going, “We love you too!” It’s amazing. Family, friends, the world it’s amazing.’
