Rose McGowan has slammed Oprah Winfrey in a furious new tweet as she claimed the talk show queen for being ‘as fake as they come’.

The former Charmed star decided to make her feelings about the billionaire media mogul clear over the weekend as she posted her scathing thoughts on social media.

Alongside a picture of Oprah giving her former friend Harvey Weinstein a kiss on the cheek, Rose wrote: ‘I am glad more are seeing the ugly truth of @Oprah . I wish she were real, but she isn’t.

‘From being pals with Weinstein to abandoning & destroying Russell Simmon’s victims, she is about supporting a sick power structure for personal gain, she is as fake as they come. #lizard’.

It’s not quite clear why the outspoken actress, 47, chose to call out the beloved media personality on Twitter, but she pinned the tweet so it would be seen by all.

In early 2020, Oprah stepped down as executive producer from the Russell Simmons’ #MeToo documentary, On the Record, amid the music mogul fighting multiple allegations of rape and sexual misconduct

The 67-year-old claimed she felt ‘there is more work to be done on the film to illuminate the full scope of what the victims endured, and it has become clear that the filmmakers and I are not aligned in that creative vision.’

She said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter at the time: ‘I want it to be known that I unequivocally believe and support the women. Their stories deserve to be told and heard.’

McGowan has publicly criticized Oprah before after telling DailyMail.com in 2018 that she turned down the chance to be interview by Oprah because of the talk show host’s past friendship with Weinstein.

However, Oprah has said on several occasions that she had no knowledge of Weinstein’s sexual abuse.
