Brief, heavy snow falls on Chicagoland

Chicago hit by what was expected to be “briefly heavy” snow, sleet and freezing rain Monday afternoon, with the worst of the precipitation expected to fade after 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service’s Chicago-area office.
